How to play Crazy Eights
Match, change, and finish
Two to six players use a standard 52-card deck, with five cards each. Match the top discard’s rank or current suit. An Eight is wild: choose the suit before playing it. There are no skip, reverse or draw-penalty cards. You may draw one card at a time, including when you could play, until you choose to play. Only pass when the stock is empty and you have no legal play. The discard pile is not recycled.
Scoring
Empty your hand to earn the value of the cards everyone else holds: Eights 50, picture cards 10, Aces 1 and other ranks their number. If every player passes, the lowest remaining penalty wins the blocked hand; tied winners share the other players’ penalty, rounded down. Glintwick matches play to 200 points. The highest total at that hand’s end wins; equal totals share the match.
Hazel’s tips
Save an Eight for a suit you can follow, but remember its large penalty. Watch the card counts before saving your strongest escape card too long.
Solo, friends and Quick Match
Solo saves automatically on this device. Private rooms begin in a lobby: everyone presses Ready, then the creator starts. Empty seats become computer guests. At match end, return to the same lobby for another game. Quick Match searches for twenty seconds, then fills empty seats. No open chat or wagering.
Settings include Relaxed, Normal and Fast motion, sounds off by default, light/dark and flat mode. Reduced motion is respected. Hints are suggestions; you choose your own move.
